Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the influence of the ego-resilience on psychosocial wellbeing of university students.
Method: The questionnaires consisted of the Psychosocial Wellbeing Index Short Form (PWI-SF) and Ego-Resilience Scale (ESR) were completed by 193 university students of 3 universities in Daegu, Korea. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression.

Result: Among participants, 77.7% were classified as high risk group in psychosocial wellbeing. The gender (¥â=.-.170, p =.018) and efficacy of interrelationship (¥â=.14, p =.046) were identified as factors influencing psychosocial wellbeing of the university students(F=5.55, p =.005). The model explained 6% of the variables.

Conclusion: The results of this study implied that gender and interrelationship might play a key role in psychosocial wellbeing of the university students. However, further research in the context is suggested as explanation power of this model was quite low.
